A note from the President:

I wish to express my personal condolences to the residents of West, TX. I have driven by or stopped to eat and shop so many times over the years. I have even driven down for special events, just because I  loved the town. The folks there have always been friendly and happy.

It hurts my heart to see the loss of life and the devastating effects of the explosion that will impact everyone there for generations to come.

While I shed my tears, I offer my prayers to each and every one of you, as well as your friends and families. Stay strong.

Dr. Jacqueline Grooms

President HLI

HLI uses many avenues in its goal of improving overall healthcare across multiple
healthcare disciplines, including community events, national promotion, and an
online professional network.

We will change the way healthcare solutions are met and bring together  professionals of all health disciplines to create a cohesive network focused on patient care.

Mission

HealthLink Initiative is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to the health and wellness needs of impoverished people and families through advocacy, education, information, and financial assistance. It is a national nonprofit corporation that works through community networks of healthcare  professionals to provide healthcare solutions at a time of need.

A special thank you to all of our volunteers who have given so generously.  We would not have had the success we had without all of you.

On April 17th, West, a small Texas town

near HLI experienced a devastating event.  Our

hearts and prayers go out to everyone affected.

We are saddened by the tragic deaths of so many,

hurting for the survivors who have to endure, and

are inspired by the heroic efforts of so many.

Three of the schools have been heavily damaged, emergency vehicles have been destroyed, homes have been completely lost. While we can only offer prayers for the families affected by the blast, we can do this small thing of collecting funds to help with the rebuilding efforts that will soon follow. Texans are resilient and strong. They will recover with time and our help.

Please click the PayPal link above and give generously to the rebuilding efforts.  HealthLink Initiative has pledged that all donations collected through the end of May will be used for the "Rebuild West" fund.
Plush For Children's Advocacy

We just completed the drive for stuffed animals for the Children's Advocacy Center.  We received over a hundred new plush to be given to the children.  Thank you everyone!

Heart Healthy Week

The November Heart Healthy Weekend was also a tremendous success.  We truly made a difference in people's lives.

Heart Disease is the leading cause of death in the United States.  It is indiscriminate of age, sex or race.  Over 25% of all deaths will be due to heart disease.  In 2011 it cost the USA over $444 billion.

Domestic Violence Drive

The October Domestic Violence Drive went splendidly.  We had hundreds turn out for a very successful two days.  The shelters were thrilled with our contribution.

HealthLink Initiative is dedicated to relieving the strain of health and wellness costs for victims of abuse.  One in every four women and one in every nine men will experience domestic violence in their lifetime.  The annual cost of domestic violence exceeds $8.8 billion each year, of which $5.8 billion is for health-related costs.  This financial burden in addition to the emotional cost can be a limiting factor in making a change to a new and safer life.

HLI will continue to support this need and save lives.

Welcome to our new sponsor Doc4m.

Doc4m is an online professional network for doctors offering peer to peer consulting and sharing.

HLI thanks Doc4m for it's monetary support as well as the support of it's members.  Together we will make a difference.
